What happend
Ok so a lot of rumours went around blaming certain people, None of that’s true, while I did try to bring people in on projects and get help things where changing to fast and I wasn’t sure I liked where it was going. On top of that some absolute wet wipe complained to my hosting company why contacted me with a CP warning (that’s enough to make anyone worry) while lolicon is legal in the hosts country and in the country the server was located I think they didn’t want the risk of any come back on there company (big name big brand) so I pulled the plug.
The intention was then to find a new safe place but several problems kept popping up. Finding one of the few hosts that accept this stuff at a fair price was difficult but even harder was finding somewhere with a good CPU (for transcoding) Storage (both large enough and fast enough for serving videos) and bandwidth (we where pushing 20TB a month on Shotatube and lolitube) all that made it impossible for me to work it out. So I stopped and left it on the live server in saved state.
IRL problems then started popping up stuff I simply couldn’t ignore or wait to deal with, during this time the servers stopped renewing (no idea why) and the servers where then lost to the great abyss.
Future of Lolitube
I do intend to bring it back at some point but a few things have to happen first (sadly it’s more a long-term goal) Lolicon isn’t really my kink and while I keep trying to get others to adopt the idea none seem willing or capable of it. Maybe May the 4th 2025 would be a good date 🤔
Hi! I know that is a bit late to replay about, but I think this is the time to do so. I was frequent user of lolitube until its shutdown and struggled very hard to find about, a reason at least for the site saying “we will be back soon”. It was only then, you [fallen demon], relaunched Shota Tube, and your blog that I undestood why all went down. So I searched for Lolitube, and I ended up at this post. After all this contextualization I came her to ask what will happen to Lolitube, since you said that at this date [May the 4th of 2025] could be a good date for bringing back lolitube to the rails. Yes I waited 1 and a half year to come her and aks you about it.
There a couple of issues with the idea of relaunching Lolitube. the main ones are the size of the thing (its going to require a much larger server or possibly a few servers to host) while this isnt a big problem it will cost and from all my time running these projects donations have been very poor. i fund and run almost everything out of my own pocket. next problem is the type of users sadly loli users seem far happier to break the rules regarding real stuff so ill need to do more mod work which is a pain in the ass and finally the biggest problem is im not that into loli stuff. iv offered to help people set up something similar to lolitube a few times but im not at the point where im happy to take all the risk and hard work for little to no reward. alot of people would have to show either some serious $$ or offer to help out alot and i simply dont have people offering the help. when lolitube was running there was me and another Admin switching between admin and mod work, it got that much we both burnt out in a few months it was horrible for both of us and led to alot of problems for me.
all that said i may very well bring lolitube back but im not promising anything
